Gonna Make Some Bath Stuff

It's super late and my computer is going to die... and I don't want to step out of my warm bed and onto the cold concrete to get the plug. So, I'll make this short.
My friend sent a package with this wonderful bath sud ball and lip balm by a company called Lush. They make handmade, vegan bath products and cosmetics. Love love love! They make a solid shampoo, which I will try this week - one bar saves 3 150 mL bottles. Ultimately, I will make the products I like such as the sud ball and possibly the solid shampoo. I'll send them to you ladies I know will enjoy them. Hopefully by the end of the month.

sounds interesting. i tried solid shampoo (the bar) like jovi uses and it totally weighed my hair down and made it look dirty. i would be interested in a cleaner washing version.

the one i've been using works really well. this is the link to the exact same one I bought from the Lush store: http://www.lushusa.com/shop/products/hair/solid-shampoos/seanik
they also have solid shampoos for hard water and for soft water, so that might be part of the problem too.
oh, if i'm researching where i can buy the active ingredients from manufacturers closest to phoenix. i'll get all other ingredients locally. maybe i can sell them at the farmer's market. if so, would you want me to sell your recycled fabrics shopping bags there too? like the bags you sent rachel for christmas?

hmmm. might want to read up on how to extract essential oils. you might need to distill some plants. I think that's how lavender is done anyway. bergamot is a very good antifungal and antibiotic plant. nice choice. i know of a wonderful essential oil company, but they are in canada: elemi.com
Ojai has a lavender farm that sells amazing lavender products - several kinds of lavender waters and oils. www.rivendellaromatics.com

thanks rach! Yeah, I researched further into essential oils and i do need to distill plants to get the oil. so, i'm going to buy a distillation kit for $60. I'll invest in the more professional at-home distiller later on if it proves better for me to create the essential oils myself. i think it will... aaron and i are going to plant a few herbs / flowers at his parents condo that are native to the region, or at least plants that endure arid climates.
i made my first bath fizz ball on friday. i used lemon juice instead of citric acid powder, as all bath bomb recipes call for, and it took about two days longer to dry out and get hard, and it also doesn't fizz quite as much... BUT, i get the lemons next door and it seems like it's better for you than citric acid powder. ??? it smells great. we'll see. i may keep doing it that way instead of the called-for way.

So cool! I cant wait to try them! Lush actually has a store in Downtown Seattle but I've never been. Maybe I will stop by this week and pick up some products.
