Breaking the Block

well, damn planners! i read an article by a professor of mine last night about master planned communities exhibiting ecological design standards. cool and everything, but i think i'm into organic placement and design. there is this small town in AZ called Miami. have you been? OMG, it's the coolest town ever. it's a tangled mess of old, mostly run-down shacks and industrial buildings. there is this turquoise villa on the side of the mine that is burnt down. aaron loved it. i had pleanty of dreams about it too and it would be a great place to fix up and do some funky business out of.
we were wondering what we should do this weekend. maybe we'll go back to miami and take pictures.
rachel, i would love to move close to you and have an underground food business. we'll work on that.

miami rocks. you have to go through there to drive to morenci. there are some neat looking places to go shopping there. there is a big thrift shop in globe next to the train tracks i have always wanted to go to. never stopped though. let me know what is up.

underground might be the way to go. It would definitely fit your style, Bird.
I like the photos of the town, Robin. It's a bit unsettling admiring what most consider failure. Failure to create a building that stays, failure to have a business that thrives. Empty buildings, depressed communities, and abandoned mines are at once so intriguing and also a reminder that we, as a society, try and try to create success and often fail. It is part of us.
